Private Event Manager ("we," "our," or "us") operates the platform available at privateeventmanager.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our platform.

1. Who Uses This Platform

Private Event Manager is an invitation-only platform for adults aged 18 and older. You may access the platform by submitting a public application at privateeventmanager.com/signup/ which is reviewed and approved by a host, or by receiving a direct email invitation from a host. All applications are vetted before access is granted.

2. Information We Collect

• Email address — required for account login. Provided by you during registration.
• Phone number — optional. Provided by you during registration only if you wish to receive SMS notifications. Providing a phone number alone does not constitute consent to SMS — you must also check the SMS consent checkbox.
• SMS consent — recorded with timestamp when you explicitly check the SMS consent checkbox during registration.
• First name — provided during registration.
• Profile name — the name your profile is known by on the platform.
• Password — stored in encrypted form. We never store passwords in plain text.
• RSVP responses — your responses to event invitations.
• Profile photo — optionally uploaded by you.
• Device and usage data — standard web server logs including IP address and browser type, used for security and platform maintenance.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To send you SMS event invitations, reminders, and cancellation notices — only if you have explicitly opted in to SMS
• To authenticate your account login
• To display your profile to event organizers and co-attendees per event settings
• To maintain platform security and prevent abuse

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to your use of the platform.

4. SMS Messaging

SMS notifications are only sent to users who have explicitly opted in by entering a phone number and checking the following consent checkbox during registration:

"I agree to receive SMS event notifications from Private Event Manager. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."

Providing a phone number alone does not constitute consent. No SMS will be sent unless the consent checkbox has been explicitly checked. Consent is recorded with a timestamp.

SMS messages include:

• Event invitations for events you have been added to
• RSVP deadline reminders
• Pre-event reminders for events you have RSVPd to attend
• Event cancellation or update notices

Message frequency: Varies based on event activity. Typically 1–5 messages per event.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

To opt out of SMS: Reply STOP to any message. Your account and event access remain fully active after opting out. You may re-enable SMS at any time by replying START or updating your notification settings in your account profile.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

• With event organizers — organizers who invited you can see your profile name, member names, and RSVP status for their events.
• With co-attendees — depending on event settings chosen by the organizer, other invited guests may see your profile name and RSVP status.
• With SMS delivery providers — we use Twilio to deliver SMS messages. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio solely for message delivery. Twilio's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
• As required by law — we may disclose information if required by a valid legal process.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information including encrypted password storage, HTTPS encryption for all data transmission, and access controls limiting who can view your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Unapproved applications that are not acted on within 3 days are automatically and permanently deleted. Declined applications are also permanently deleted immediately. If you wish to have your account and data deleted, contact us directly. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Opt out of SMS messaging at any time by replying STOP
• Request a copy of your data

9. Children's Privacy

Private Event Manager is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has been registered on our platform, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
